Creative Industries Level 5:PSN Outage:Online Gaming

Now i know many people have covered the Playstation Network Outage, where online gaming and other Playstation Network connected features went down around April 19th due to being hacked.

But since many have covered the PSN Outage and when it will be back up and other stuff to do with the network, i started to think that over the time that online gaming became big since the first person shooters from the 1990's up to 2011, that over the previous couple of years more and more games have utilised that attraction and added online gaming.

Games such as first person shooters utilise online gaming much more and seem to focus on that aspect of gaming and since the PSN Outage gamers have been unable to play there online shooters. The Call of Duty series is bet known for their online gaming and seem to have been hit with the PSN Outage by losing online gamers and being unable to download the next Downloadable Content (DLC) being released in the coming weeks Activision will surely know they are losing money with the loss of PS3 gamers.

But Call of Duty isn't the only game to have a loss with online gaming as there are many games which use online gaming as an addition to their respective games, such as Brink another First Person Shooter which has keyed online capability to their game as an attraction. Being able to use other gamers through online to play with or against in campaign giving a gamers more of a challenge with the campaign and that attraction has been led into question as with the PSN Outage still ongoing and Brink to be released May 13th you would think that this issue would hit Brink hard but a Bethesda spokesperson told Eurogamer "We're still going ahead with launch this week" and that online gaming will be available but whilst its down Brink still offers single-player and bots, leading many gamers to put off purchasing the game.

So i question that with so many games focusing on online too much particularly First Person Shooters such as teh Call of Duty Series, Brink and Bulletstorm, which i had wanted to get until the splitscreen game mode had been removed for an online gaming capability. With all these games using online gaming i believe that the PSN Outage although being bad in terms of those gamers who used online for the best of things has also been a good thing due to many games using online gaming as an attraction to gamers when the offline gaming should be as important if not more.
