Creative Industries Level 5:D&AD Week 2

Having an available time this week we were able to develop our ideas and deciding to go with the two circled simply because the age range was described as 4-14 year old. From the choices we saw that the character appealed to an older 14 age range as well as near the 4 year old, as the character posses that child/baby like features, large limbs, headphones, t-shirt and trousers.
After having final chosen two out of the developed sketches we decided to do some facial expressions to see which design would best suit the age range and production for a show:

Contextual and Theoretical Studies Level 5 Week 16:Essay Related(Superman)

Here are some pieces of text which are related to my essay but i hadn't used and they mainly focus on the godfather of superheroes, Superman.

Contextual and Theoretical Studies Level 5 Week 16:Essay Related

From Eco, U (1972) The Myth of Superman Diacritics. Vol. 2, No. 1. (Spring), 14-22 i had also been shown a commentary of Eco's text in which it simplfies Eco's text to be understandable.

I was pointed towards this text from Eco, U (1972) The Myth of Superman Diacritics. Vol. 2, No. 1. (Spring) which is Eco's understanding of Superman and although i did not use this specific peice of text i didn't want to focus too much on Superman but here are screenshots of the text taken The Myth of Superman Diactrics.

Contextual and Theoretical Studies Level 5 Week 16:Hamlet on the Holodeck Murray J. 1997

Looking at the narrative within cyberspace, in todays session, we mainly focused on Hamlet on the cover as within the book there were refrences much towards the big important mattes and those refrences were towards Shakespeare's use of language with what affect that had caused on the narrative history. J.L Austin's quote that 'Speech act changes the world' mentions that through the worlds communication skills we are able to develop our surroundings to what we want and linked this to the narrative role through stories being told throughout mans existence and through the stories knowledge is passed on and told which influences others who listen to those stories which help to carry on traditions or to survive through worse case scenarios.

Shakespeare's 'To be or not to be' was introduced to the world of the inner voice of a character in which thoughts are given to the inner voice which is for the individual being to allow them to think with their inner voice which lets them plan or think about how stuff can be done before actually doing it. Shakespeare's introduction to language brought many new words which brought new narrative to which made the simplest of sayings become a problem and was further produced by Laurence Sterne in Tristran Shandy.

With the digital media becoming much of a transgression across the world the new form of narrative has yet to be established becaue of the methods that were used in teh 20th century becoming irrelevant as the communication between technlogy which allows us to understand the new digital technology.

X-Men and Philosophy Notes
The lure of the normal:Who wouldn't want to be a mutant? Patrick D. Hopkins
From the 3rd Live Action X-Men movie-cure found-who would want cure?-who would want to be normal?
Fans see reason in cure for Rogue-other fans see it as a rejection of something special and glorious
Rogue wants to be normal so she can fit in and be able to do normal things such as touch
Being ordinary or Being Unique-Why wouldn't anyone want to be a mutant?
'Normal'-an indication of how something should be-e.g not getting angry at the simplest of things would be seen as normal, getting angry at the simplest of things would be seen as not normal
Something being 'normal' has to be the measurement for how things should be?-Just how things are which make them 'normal'
'Normal' would be to fall into the standard traits-Abnormal' can be seen from being talented
Human beings normality would be that we want to fit in the suitable range of people not to stand out e.g goths with goths and emos with emos-We also want to attract the attention of others so that we are distinguished and noticable from the ranges of emos and goths-We want to be normal enough to show mates that theres nothing wrong with us but enough normality to allow us to attract attention and give us an advantage over competitors
X-Men are mostly normal although they class themselves as mutants-see themselves as normal as the look human whilst there powers are not visible unless shown-certain mutants aren't seen as normal because of their mutation being physically shown through skin and objects shown on their body
So these mutants would want to be cured and be normal in the sense that they would seen as normal and human and won't be distinguished to the extent they were with the mutation and be outcasted and seen as a threat
Michel Focault (1926-1984)-history of the abnormal beginning with concept of 'monster'-a mixture of the unnatural and impossible-as something seen different from the majority of what you see that are similas is seen as abnormal
Mutants like Wolverine, Jean Grey and Storm are seen as normal as their mutations isn't visible through sight, touch or smell-Where as mutants like Mystique, Beast and Nightcrawler have their mutation visble through sight, touch and smell and would be seen as abnormal
The same probem with Rogue as she is unable to touch as she would sap the life out of the person she touches-because of that she has to maintain her distance and beware-makes her become abnormal as she isn't acting in the way to what is perceived as normal-which is why she would want to become normal
The perceived notion of normal is that which constitutes the natural behaviour or traits of someone so humans are seen as normal because it has been accustomed to the society of humans-when mutants show up abnormality begins to ascend-but if the majority of the population could fly then it would be seen as a normal form of behaviour
Morlocks are a prime example of abnormal because of their mutation and have to hide in the sewers as they feel they are not seen as normal because of their defects
Although we as humans would want to some of the powers of the Morlocks some would choose to look like them-we function with the evolutionary sense of what is attractive and what is ugly and would find the Morlocks ugly-no matter what powers you would have of the Morlocks the knowledge that you would be despised by normal humans and perhaps even normal looking mutants as they would see themselves as prettier than you
The fixation of wanting to be an X-Man is to be different-way which makes them stand out-in terms of beauty, power and normality-wanting abnormailty trait to the level where they wouldn't have anything inhibited socially or physically-People want to stand out on conventional terms
Fantasy and science fiction provide an escape of the normal-allow us to imagine riches of life by having enhanced special abilities and extraordinary experiences-wondering what we could do if we weren't so restricted or limited/ordinary-creators, would have felt they did not fit in society so made this world where characters who did not fit were magnificent and enviable
Excitement in being abnormal with new abilities-Comfort in being normal without worries of being judged-but whole point of these worlds is for comfort to escape into
Amnesia, Personal Identity, and The Many Lives of Wolverine Jason Southworth
Personal Identity-what makes a person a person-praise and blame of person on their actions which constitutes to their personal identity of praise and blame of the act that the person has committed-the visuals are not the personal identity but the mind of the body
within the superhero world we have an identity of this hero such as Wolverine-who had many identities due to the amounts of memories that were erased a new identity was created-a hero has an identity of being almighty, almost god like, superior over everyon else due to the advantage you possess
X-Istential X-Men:Jews,Supermen, and The Literature of Struggle Jesse Kavaldo
"Each storyline becomes a new attempt to rewrite human history through the lens of a superheroscience fiction, where the world can be saved..."
Picking one X-Man through their constant traumas over the years they feel unaffected of the act after a while-unscathed as if they have healing powers for the traumas-but can we?
Sigmeund Freud (1856-1939)-if supermans is a wish then the X-Men are the flipside of the wish:fear-superhero's appeal are their powers that each individual has to distinguish one another-unlike superman the powers also represent the possibiliy of what could happen if it came true
Mr. Incredible "No matter how many times you save the world,it always manages to get back in jeopardy again."
Camus' Myth of Sisyphus-Sisyphus is condemned to roll the boulder up the hill everyday for the rest of his life and before it reaches the top it rolls back down the mountain hill and althought Sisyphus knows this will happen for the rest of his existence he doesn't rest for the next day as he does his chores and contains some aspect of being normal
Layla Miller Knows Stuff: How a Butterfly can Shoulder the World George A. Dunn
"Hi, I'm Layla Miller. I know stuff."
Layla Miller can anticipate the future-Not through means that are usually associated with future gazing-but in a Butterfly Effect form-where she can predict what will happen by the events that lead upto the specific moment of that future
Edward Lorenz (1917-2008)-Flapping of a butterflys wings cause a slight change in the atmosphere and therby setting off a chain reaction
Due to Layla knowing the future-weight of the world is on her shoulders-using her powers came with a responsibility and instead of using it for her gain she sacrficed herself so that the weight of the world lifted
When you know your just a comic book character:Deadpool Joseph J. Darowski
Deadpool knows he's a character in comic book
       PostModernism-Breaking the fourth wall
Deadpools awareness that he is a comic book character is generally used to deliver the punch line of a gag
       Wise cracking pop-culture refrencing attitude
Professor X Wants You Christopher Robichaud
Jeremy Bentham (1748-1832)-...it's heart is the idea that a person's well-being consist in her maximising her pleasures and minimizing her pains.
High-Tech Mythology In X-Men George Teschner
Creating and beleiving in mythical heroes and heroic deeds are ways that human consciousness conceptualizes major forces and conflicts

Contextual and Theoretical Studies Level 5 Week 16:Essay Notes

Batman and Philosophy The Dark Knight of the Soul William Irwin, Mark D.White and Robert ARP
Introduction Riddle Me this
Batman is the most complex character ever to appear in comic books and graphic novels-Batman appeals to so many people because he is 'just' a human being, even though he is much different than the rest of us-Devotion of his life to avenge his parents death and other victims, by risking life and limb
Batman refuses to kill...if he kills, it would make him as bad as the criminals he is sworn to fight-Superheroes are generally not Utilitarians and avoid killing one person to save many as this means killing and going against what they stand fo

Superheroes duty to help others-Specific character type needed to be a superhero is not suitedto everyone, and society demands different roles from each of us-moral character will escape-best intentions are incapable of a good outcome all the time due to the characters constraints

Batman hates criminals-removing self-doubt about being able to beat the criminals makes him fight them and after losing Batman tries again without listening to his conscience and succeeds-getting satisfaction out of the destruction from stopping the criminals
Tortures and nightmares of his parents death whilst he was helpless-hatred towards evildoers jeopardizes any human relationships-his life becoming lonely and unfulfilling
Batmans actions and motivations focus on the psychological impact of the death of his parents-which made him take up the role of a crime-fighting bat-but perhaps Gothams government is Batmans hatred as the state were incapable of maintaining their laws and order-repsonse to this was to take matters into his own hands-Batmans probematic relationship with the government

Our free will is constituted by our ability to form desires about our desires, to reflect upon and evaluate them, and to change our motivations accordingly

1989 Tim Burton's  Batman sees his parents killed as he is a child and when he becomes Batman he watches as his parents' killer falls to his death-this isn't a simple revenge story int the Batman Universe-revenge or retribution plays role in Batmans motivation
"nothing haunts me more than finding out who killed my parents "..."their unsolved murder changed Gotham City"-Superman/Batman: Public Enemies(2005)-Batman thinks of his role in Gotham as somehow analogous to his fathers role as pysichian
Endless life would prove to be boring, curse rather than a blessing-Batman has no superpower but due to being left with wealth he was able afford training, equipment and all the stuff money could buy to become a viglante-no resource should be spared to fight injustice
He is a modern day Dracula, a wraith, a dark knight and avenging spirit
Batman has human powers not affected by radiation, spider bite or born from an advanced alien race or an unexplained natural phenomenon-Batmans powers are of dedication, sacrifice and human pursuit or devotion to the cause

Creative Industries Level 5:D&AD Week 1 Choice

This week we were given briefs from D&AD and had to work within a group of two's or three's and due to myself and Mark wanting to do a brief which will allow us to draw and use our skills, developing them further we decided out of the below listed briefs to go for the Disney Animation brief as it suits where we want to go in the future. As Disney as based from their success of cartoons gave us the chance to use our skills rather than doing a business plan and looking into possible things to do for our desired job (concept artist), with the suggestion that possible concept art could be for a game of a popular Disney based cartoon.

D&AD Postal SUBMISSION DEADLINE 5pm Friday 17th March
So with the decision to go with the Disney Animation brief we decided to get started and developed a few sketches to further develop later at an available time:

Game Art Design and Animation Week 14:Game Environment Character Animation in Game

Within the game play i will have a an area which is open but not wanting the gamers to exit through this passageway i will have my character be a wall to the gamers and to have some form of recognition to the gamers movements towards this area. As a animation which will play in loop to when the game is being played, i will animate my character to simply look around and look as if he's guarding the area not allowing anyone in or out. When the gamer comes within the certain area of the character that distance will trigger the second animation of the character to stop looking around and instead get ready with his arms at his side, but i also wanted a third animation which will be a further trigger in which when the gamer gets even further towards the character, the character will begin to shoot particles frm his forearm and at the gamer.

Game Art Design and Animation Week 14:Game Environment Area Floor Plan

I started to do the floor plans for my main game play area and not the surrounding of the environment. When i started to do the floor plan i had to do a basic colour design so that when viewing the floor plan you are able see certain parts of buildings and the detail of windows.

To show the floor plans more accurately to the area in which the gamers will be able to travel around, but i wanted and opening in which the gamers can go up to but not pass through as my character will block off the passageway and the gamers will trigger an animation when the gamers get up to a certain distance to the passageway.

Taking the floor plan into a much more detailed plan as to where the collectables will go in the game play area and the distance between the buildings. Looking at the floor plan i see how basic of a game that it will be but because of the basic fundamentals of game objectives, i would have to have the area itself be games attraction.

Here is the detailed and focussed perspective of the game area and how much of the size of the game play area would be available to the gamers.

Game Art Design and Animation Week 14:Game Environment Area Concept Art

Taking my viewpoint of my whole citscape that has been destroyed and focusing on the main area which will become the gameplay, i chose to have the main structural building which is positioned at the front to be part of the gameplay area as gives off a alien vibe because of the colours used it seems to have been a happier setting till it was destroyed. Also wanting to include a piece of a building which had been destroyed to show that parts had fallen down and to have bits of animations/particles to be used for it.

Then i took the surrounding buildings which are around the main focus point of a building because of their distance to the tall building they are darker and make them good in the contrast of distance and thats what makes them more stand out and their pattern or markings. The final side of the gameplay area will be another piece of a building, which is a long tube that has been cracked in half and the ground area will be a extension of the surrounding texture.

Contextual and Theoretical Studies Level 5 Week 15:Essay Notes

The Psychology of Superheroes An Unauthorized Exploration Robin S. Rosenberg, PHD
Superheroes allow us to see ourselves in stark and entertaining ways and to dream of what we might be-Superheroes alter ego is a role in which they can perceive everyday existence without being singled out
Without Clark Kent as Supermans alter ego Superman wouldn't have a purpose to save Earth other than the right thing-witnessing everyday life makes him create relationships to the point to care and look after others
Clark Kents upbringing by his Earth parents have influence his whole character-Supermans personality would possibly be different if he had landed in New York City
Having superpowers whilst growing up and knowing your far superior to those in your classroom-comparing abilities with those around you-self-concept around those who are less able will be higher than those who are able-those who feel they are more able are likely to perform better and perserve more often
Supermans two-dimensional moral view of the world, Good vs Evil-rarely appears to wrestle with the moral implications of his crime-fighting behaviour
The classic superhero and their evil villains-shine the spotlight on the anti-hero, a person who on occasion does 'bad things for the right reasons'-the workings of various anti-heroes who have undertaken dark deeds when they believed the end justified the means
The Anti-Hero-too good to be bad or good, the anti-hero occupies the gray area in between the two-good guy who does bad things for the right reasons-Magneto's journey from villain to sympathetic villain to anti-hero is anything but complete
Batman is an Anti-Hero-residing in a much darker and more criminal than that of Supermans Metropolis-striking from the shadows, using fear as a weapon and willingless to work outside the law in order to catch the villains
The Anti-Hero who is willing to kill the bad guys to get what he wants-Wolverine does not limit himself, not hurting the innocent but would point a pistol in the face of a gun dealer to find out who he sold weapons to-"I got no stomach for guttin' animals. People though--thats another matter" Wolverine Vol.1#1
For most superheroes, their real jobs -fighting crime and saving innocent lives is a calling-logical career path given their abilities and talents
Superheroes and Mortals have similarities in each other lives-examine ourselves and our characteristics and look fo jobs that fit our uniqueness-similar challenges, adapting to the predictable stages and trying to find meaning in our work, so that we understand we're doing this for a larger sense of purpose
Superheroes are supposedly distinguished by having superpowers but supervillains also have powers-so in distinguishing superhero from supervillain we look at their abilities in terms of usage or how they are either helping or hurting people
It seems that in order to enhance our abilities to super-human we have to risk sacrificing our humanity-superpowers equals super responsibility
The traditional Superhero is classed as having abilities which showcase him or her as superior-if everyone wanted to be a superhero the definition would lose meaning-"When everyone's super, no one will be," Syndrome the villain from The Incredibles
The Punisher (a.k.a Frank Castle)is complex seeming to be a villain but his aim are the bad guys-Judge, Jury and Executioner
Part of the appeal of the superheroes is that through them we can live out our dreams and fantasies
Stress can still be a factor wether being human or a superhero as in the case of superheroes the stress of constant saving the world, having to be their when danger strikes, changing difficulties, taking the bad guys out whilst keeping the alter -ego under wraps
We often want to be superheroes as they deal with major stressors well enough when it comes to the vast tasks they are expecte to do-as whenthey save the world they are cheered and well received as oppose to the everyday good deed that goes unnoticed and unappreciated and doesn't allow the relief of the stress

Game Art Design and Animation Week 13:Game Environment Concept Art

From this basic layout of my environment, of the whereabouts of my buildings and how the scaling should be i wanted to further my visuals of the buildings by starting the concept art on how the texture colour would look on my buildings. When it came to doing the concept art i took all the research under consideration and started to form the destruction of my buildings, developing them from their whole self and transitioning them into destroyed and rubble. Having them destroyed making pieces of the buildings destroyed across the ground created a consitant theme of destruction across the ground to the building.
When it came to the colours i wanted to use bright, vibrant colours to seem like their from a distant planet and not using many colours for single buildings i wanted a similar colour of the main building to the windows. Having buildings become different in colours to one another was my main objective as it was giving each of them a trait making them stand out and be tod apart when talking about them.

Lighter colours used for the buildings up close is what i had wanted to make the viewers suggest that this once inhabited planet had been a kind and friendly place until it became a battleground for the aliens. But also having the contrast of them much darker to give off a look of time, that has taken over the destrution making them rust and wither away as time and battles have eroded them.

Game Art Design and Animation Week 13:Game Environment Sketches

Using what i had built within Unity i had sketched a rough version of that landscape and use it as a back drop for my game play and surroundings for my concept art. Sketching the back drop i saw or noticed that this would only be the portion of the game to which would surround gameplay and much of it would be covered by the buildings and so i shouldn't worry too much about the surroundings as it will change throughout the implementation of the game and bringing the buildings into Unity.

I had started to create, what i would seem as alien buildings and came up with six rough shapes and looks but didn't feel as if i could get the overall look and feel of what i want, a deserted planet, uninhabited and destroyed by past and present battle grounds. With the sketches of the buildings that i have done so far i will be able to create a backing to the main buildings, to the point of these buildings of being fillers around and behind the focal points.

After deciding to just go with the overall look of my environment through sketching a layout and adding buildings that i would seem as an alien shapes, sizes and patterns. Once i had done the look of the buildings i placed them into the right positions. I began to form ideas on how i had wanted the certain buildings that seemed most like a foreign, alien building and put them much more close up and having the buildings which are not great in quality in the back drop to fill up areas.

Creative Industries Level 5:Documents

Documents are used within each company but knowing which you will be handling when running a business is important as it usuallly involves invoices and statements for estimates, bills and tracking of unpayed payments. Another piece of documentation is terms and conditions as these come in handy with sales which gives protection of your rightds and interests of the product, costs and legallybinding as a contract as well as being a form of arrangements and payment terms. Terms and conditions have certain areas that are key to document such as payment, person who is eeking purchase of product and the returns or product arrangements.

Keeping track of your documents is a key process when part of a business and an accountant allows for that process to be less time consuming for the owner as the accountant can keep track of the income and outcome of money. An accountant keeps the cash flow in check and steady to the point where no cash is being overspent and is available and not to spend more than the earned amount and using certain softwares can also be a a good tracker of cash flow as it allows you to notice your losing money before it could be too late to prohibit a loss.

Businesses tend to spend money on start up essentials, overheads and direct costs such as recent released equipments, a website, company name, logo, aesthetics, bills for the electrics, wages and rent, equipment or needs of the employees. As wells as tracking your business its key to keep the bank informed on the standard information they seek such as money needed, money already available, purchases, marketing plan and payment to the bank.

Creative Industries Level 5:Cash Management

This week we looked at how to manage your cash income and outcome by keeping track of your money through a business perspective and processes were listed and used ultiple times within a business perspective and modified if the cash flow became unsteady in meeting the standards of income.
  • Constantly tracking your use of money
  • Gaining more exposure and marketing product(s) with income to increase profit
  • Having legal evidence of sales
  • Invoicing clients to keep track of deal
  • Reminders and contact of unpaid deals
We looked more into cash flow and how to understand it and why it benefits the business and listed three steps to a cash flow such as Receipts are your income, Payments are your expenditures and The Balance which is your expenditure taken from your income. Having a positive cash flow means that you are earning more than you are spending and that you have a steady growth of income but if your income is a negative cash flow, showing that you are steadily losing income due spending money than you are earning.

Creating a cash flow forecast whe starting up a company gives the company a good estimation of what you will be using the money for such as employees, rent and other equipment and etc to consider costs and the overall growth. An accountant can help with the cash flow of the company, with the choice of a Charted or Certified accountant with both doing the job in a similar fashion, payment is thebig difference maker between the two.

Creative Industries Level 5:Game Industry Sony Playstation's NGP

On January 27th Sony had a presentation in which they showed their new software and just a general update of the products and that presentation had been released online now and after watching it i was impressed at how they are furthering their products to expand on the success of user interface through touch and motion senses and the ways in which they have produced the new game engine the Next Generation Portable or the PSP2 into a more sociable gaming engine through the PlayStation Suite and the Near and much more to be able to view friends or gamers near you and to be able to see gaming information like games played, bought, scores and more in depth detail.

From what i can remember after watching the presentation Sony have tried to look more into having an expanded level of fun whilst gaming with your friends and on the move and the presentation is impressive at the way it was presented and also to show off their new product and gain exposure and excitement to gamers who see this as a next step into gaming and portable play. I looked at this specific company as it is a large company to aim for and with their new expansion on products their variety of platforms to be able to play will allow those that are in the developing stages of their career can aim for one of the platform areas to hone their craft and i particularly saw this as an interesting bit of latest news as the Sony products are the main manufacturers that my family and i have been purchasing from with the latest addition of the PS3 to our products list.

Creative Industries Level 5:Marketing Plan

My logo at it's Basic Stage
My name is Ifraz Mohammed, I am a 20 year old student studying in BA Digital Films, Games and Animation into the second year and looking towards doing a third year to have a main focal point for my career. Drawn toward the Game aspect of the course and perhaps the Animation aspect as well but mainly towards the Game aspect as i see concept art as being my strong point and throughout my 1st year and 2nd year i have begun to not only focus on the Game concept art but become to open up to the Game modelling and in the 3r d year hope to narrow my decision on the one choice.

My main goal is to either do be working under concept artist as it fits under the imagination of my mind and of the design that i am capable of conjuring up with or without a brief character/environment description or game modelling particularly Maya as its the main 3D modelling software which is being used by the big named manufacturers and is the main software which is similar to other 3D modelling applications out in the market. The benefits of doing both is that my concept art design are of my creations and with that in mind i will be able to have the modelling aspect in terms of proportion, look and feel of the character and environment when it come to the modelling and how i can develop that with my skills in 3D modelling.and with these aspects being the main direction of work i am capable of working alone to get the best out of my final piece as well as taking input and giving input to others and working in a team and watching over the team members to see their progress and where i can develop my work to get the best out of them.

When price is concerned is for the freelancers and opening your own company and i see neither as being in my future as of now as i would like to gain experience and improve skills and areas of my work through working with or within and industry full of people who are doing similar stuff to what i hope to be achieving and to get into these companies i will need to self promote to gain experience and feedback from people who are doing concept art and 3D modelling and within the gaming industry as these will help to be aware of what i need to do to get to the standards that are wanted by companies. That is why i have recently began to put my work into social networks such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook to help to gain exposure or feedback from perhaps professionals. My desired place to work is one that is close and available to be with family but a few years ago i had seen America as a main source of gaming industry work and wanted to go to America to gather information, skills and just knowledge of how to achieve the concept art perfection that i have seen over the years but i see the U.K as a base to get into the industry and see how it works and then get into a bigger picture within the gaming industry by going to America.

Overall i am a hard worker as focusing on the one main project helps to get the best out of me and knowing what i want to do, by using my imagination to make the best piece of work i can to create in concept art or 3D modeling and that where i can do these types of work whether America or U.K will all be additional learning to the one i have and be able to work locally around family and i will do the best of my ability to achieve this goal to live in calm whilst doing what i love.

Game Art Design and Animation Week 12:Game Environment Landscape

This week we had started to learn much more about Unity, our game forming software and so we were able to get the hang of functions, terrain building, meshes and importing animations. during this time we were able see that the Unity software was similar in ways to Maya and made it an easy transition to using Unity.

Whilst i hadn't delved much deeper into the Unity software i was able to have a go at creating my environment landscape by using creating a terrain and shifting through the options available i tried to create what i beleived would suit my depiction or my idea of how i want the landscape to look.

As you can see by simply having a try at some of terrain tools i was able to create a small landscape mountainside, with small hills and an open valley. With this simple usage of the terrain manipulations, rising the certain areas of the terrain created a deserted scenery, to have the buildings become the focal point of the game.
Throughout the images you can see that within Unity rising the terrain helped to create a landscape setting equivalent to gameplay mountains, rather than creating the landscape in Maya Unity was able to speed up the time of creating a setting for my game than creating the landscape in Maya.
This final image is a screenshot of my character showing his scale compared to the landscape and of the area in which he will be contained within. Adding the given textures from Unity i built the landscapes visuals to look bare and visible and seem like there is nothing but land from miles away and i found that because of this test of a landscape setting i will usse this as a representation for my overall game.
