Starting this course our group had chosen the space station and Chris had said that we should come up with individual ideas to which then we would join up and come up with the final product having seen all of each others work and here is the first of my research:
I have been watching an anime series, Gundam Wing in which surrounds itself in space and found that this image shows how basic a space station can look.
I believe that this is a space station used in Star Trek and i chose this as a researched image because it is well known and has so much detail that shows how much detail is in certain space stations.
This looked interesting as it stood out with its interesting perspective of a space station because it seems like it hasn't been finished and that the shape of it is a factor as a donut shape with a handle on seems too much to be completed.
Now this next image, i think is a rendered 3d model of a space station and that in itself showed how we as a group could create a 3d perspective of the pace station we want to later be converted into second life.
This image has been chosen simply because i started to constantly seen that object in space had there own solar panels around the shape which led to me thinking that we could incorporate that idea into our space station.
Again this space station looks outstanding in its shape to the futuristic look and feel and thats why i chose it because it has that futuristic thought into it.
Again, this is another example of a space object which integrates solar panelling into its shape.
The simple shape of this space station made me realize that our space station could consist of areas of shapes that join up having a top, middle and lower deck of a space station.
Here is an actual image of the Star Trek space Ship being used and how it looks underneath with its engine below.
Another image of how solar panels are used with a space object but also with this image is the fact that the solar panels aren't just added at the side but above the space object.
This image shows how a space station doesn't have to be long or big but can just be small in length and wide to accompany the vast amounts of people.
This image for me shows a range of space station ideas that can come out of the shape or simple engine ideas to be the base of the space station shape.
I had chosen this image besides the legos being used to build it, it looks as futuristic and something our group could use for a city start.
The next image is from 2001:Space Odyssey and to me the shape caught my attention as it has a sphere on one end which is attached to a long part which is made up of individual compartments which can give our group the idea that the space station could be broken into parts.
This next space station image was chosen because it has that futuristic look and the shape as it is broken into three significant areas which is the lower base could contain the spaceships, second mid base having the civilization and the third base the top which would have the captain and the space station workers.
Another image of solar panels with a space object but agin a different shape.
This had been the first image i had chosen because not only does it show an image of the space station but another view of it which shows how the space station could be used in space.
